Three photos below show details of the above photo; you need careful field sampling to identify all the components of this system. There is a change in the sequence at the top of the thrombolite head, where the overlying bed is tabular thrombolite.  This may be explained by sea-level changes or perhaps sedimentation, emphasising that tthe precise reason for the break is less clear.
